El Alfa, known initially as Emanuel Herrera Batista, was born on December 18, 1990. The artist was born & raised in the town of Bajos de Haina, Dominican Republic. El Alfa did not come from a wealthy family, and his family members are noted to have worked in blue-collar jobs. However, the artist believed that he was destined for more.
